Policy

Japan's natural environment has had a tremendous burden placed upon it during the periods of modernization and rapid economic growth. Today we realize that we must discuss the protection of the environment not only in local but also in global terms. Our responsibility is to preserve the environment for the next generation. To accomplish this we believe that environmental assessment is an important process to harmonize development with nature. The Japan Association of Environment Assessment (JEAS) was established in 1978 by sixty five private companies and organizations. The goal of JEAS is to promote research, to exchange information and to improve the level of environmental assessment technology in Japan.
